Embalagem do Futuro® took part in SIAL Canada, North America’s largest food and agribusiness trade fair.

The event, which took place between 29 April and 1 May, highlighted the collaborative work of the consortium of 79 organisations working together to innovate with sustainable and technologically advanced solutions in the packaging sector.

In this competitive and global context, the presence of Embalagem do Futuro® is particularly significant: it demonstrates technological capability, strategic vision and alignment with international trends in sustainability, efficiency and circularity.

At a time when packaging is at the heart of the international debate, SIAL Canada has dedicated a specific area — SIAL Packaging — where topics such as eco-design, waste reduction, new regulations and sustainable solutions for the industry are discussed. The presence of Embalagem do Futuro® at SIAL Canada demonstrates that Portugal is at the forefront of packaging innovation, contributing to a more sustainable, efficient sector that is prepared for global challenges.
The presence of Embalagem do Futuro® was further highlighted by the SIAL Canada organisers, who featured two project outputs in the showcase highlighting innovative products: PPS09 (a 100% natural single-sheet wooden box) and PPS14 (the ‘Farm 2 Fork’ traceability system).

This participation was supported by Nerlei CCI and Inova+, and, in a way that is a particular honour for us, by Emmad – Wood Packaging Manufacture, which crafted a bespoke wooden crate for the international transport of Embalagem do Futuro® products
